The caption on the back of this snapshot says “Piazza Della Twin Churches.” The handwriting was from my teenage girl self, loopy style. The dot over both “i's” are empty circles.
This photo was taken 50 years ago in Rome. I’m on the left; my dear friend Sally is on the right. We were on a six week Foreign Study League Tour of Rome, Florence and Paris. Two weeks in each place, studying art and architecture. Apparently I didn’t pay attention to the churches' names.
I am very excited to get on an airplane and travel far away again with my girlfriend Sally next month. Stay tuned.
P.S. After spending two seconds on Wikipedia, I found the name of those two churches. “Santa Maria dei Miracoli and Santa Maria di Montesanto. They are on the Piazza del Popolo.”
